Flew

by Emily Grostefon (16)

A second,
and she was gone.
Her soul flew away free.
Some how,
I wish it would have been me.

A second,
and lives were forever changed.
Friends and family will mourn,
but her parents will never be
the same.

A second,
and her future
became her past.
How could her time
have run out so
fast?

A second,
and she was gone.
Her soul flew away free.
Somehow,
I guess it was just
meant
to be.
