Don't Think About It Anymore

by Kimberly Schmaltz (13)

Don’t think about it anymore,
It’s over,
It’s done.
Good-bye cruel world,
My time has come.
I lay upon the floor,
So cold,
So pale.
You’re gone,
You left,
You’re nothing.
That night,
That horrible night,
The night that ended it all.
You left me there,
You heard my cries.
You turned your back,
And closed your eyes.
The blood was leaking from my body,
My life was draining out too.
The tears didn’t come though,
My eyes were left dry.
All I could think of,
"Is this how I’m going to die?"
It’s not really fair though,
This isn’t how I want to go,
I’m not ready yet,
There’s things I want to do,
Places I want to see,
People I haven’t met.
You were the one who should be lying here,
The one who is just waiting to die.
But all you’re doing is standing there,
And like me, you’re eyes are still dry.
Will this haunt you?
Will the question "Why" run through your mind?
Will it even bother you?
Do you even care?
I’m lying here dying,
And all you seem to do is stare.
That bothers me,
You killed me,
And I don’t see a single tear.
Just don’t think about it anymore,
Don’t let it bother you.
Just turn your back on me,
We both know how good at that you are.
