Cliche

by Meg Preston (14)

Every day they leave their paradise
Heading out and splitting up
Going in opposite directions.

One going to dance
Even though she hates it
Because it makes her feel dirty
But they really need the money.

The other one to vacuum
In the high-rise office
Where he should be the one
Cleaning up the competition
Instead of cleaning up the floor

And they both hate their jobs
But they both love each other
So as long as they're together
They’ll be all right
And if you think about it
It’s like they’re living a cliché

But if they had the chance
They would
Do it all
Again
