Between Life or Death

by Amanda Proctor (15)

Death. A welcome thought.
After feelings experienced,
Feelings unshared.
The dark cloud sails overhead
Heralding news of failure.

Life. A twisting turmoil.
So many uncertainties, short comings
The paths unchoose - the could have beens.
Who needs the stench of misfortune
Better off are we, if we are gone.

Death. An unseen destiny.
Everyone is doomed to die.
Some accept it,
Some try to avoid it. Hoping,
Maybe somehow there'll be a cure.

Life. I wish there was a cure.
Instead of living,
Instead of feeling, the misfortune.
The unavoidable feeling of emptiness;
Wishing for contentment, happiness.

Life and Death. A hard decision.
Pros and cons, weighed out on a scale.
Brief moments of happiness,
Long hours of depression, turmoil.
The fate of life, death, lie in my hands.
