Another Valley

by Drury Brennan (17)

I once looked at a
picture of a man who
was jumping off a bridge
to a bruised sleep
and noticed not only
was he pushing away the
white fingers grabbing his black
arm, he was smiling as
the air broke against his
jacket and
his Nikes slipped off
flying, finally
flying.
