The Great Salt Lake
The Size

The lake si about 75 miles long and 50 miles wide and 6 meters deep. The size and the shape of the lake always change. The depth does too. Sometimes it gets bigger and sometimes it gets smaller. The Lake is deepest in the spring because it receives the melting snow from the Wasatch Mountains
The rainfall and waters from the 3 rivers affect the size and the shape of the lake. Besides, it has no way out. The water does not flow but dries up. In winter only little water dries up. That is why the lake gets bigger. In 1982 the lake was 4,248 km square but in 1986 its size became 6345 km square.
