According to the regulations set by the Government of Indonesia, only children of expatriate fathers, or mothers who are sole guardians and officially working in Indonesia, are eligible to attend an international school. Both the sponsoring parent (usually father) and the child are required to hold either a Dinas or a Kitas visa.
In order to establish the eligibility of your child to attend YIS, please fill the questionnaire below.
1. a. Does the father (natural or adopted) of the child have a non Indonesian passport ? Yes / No
b. Does the father (natural or adopted) of the child have a Dinas or a KIM-S visa ? Yes / No
If your answers to the above questions are Yes, please move to the question
number 3.
However, if your answers are No, but you are a single mother please
move to question number 2.
2. a. Are you a single mother with a non Indonesian passport? Yes / No
b. Do you have a Dinas or KIM-S visa? Yes / No
If your answers to the above questions are Yes, please move to question 4.
3. Does the father (natural or adopted) of the child reside in Indonesia ? Yes / No
If the answer is Yes, please continue. If the answer is No, you must obtain special permission to attend an international school (according to the Decree of the Three Ministers - Chapter I. No.65a).
4. a. Does the child have a non Indonesian passport? Yes / No
b. Does the child have a Dinas or a KIM-S visa? Yes / No
c. Is the child’s visa sponsored by the father / mother who has a work permit to work in Indonesia ? Yes / No
If answers to questions in 1 or 2, 3, and 4 are yes, you are in compliance with the prevailing Indonesian government regulations for attending international schools. Your child is eligible to attend YIS
