THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY
THE OUR FATHER
Our Father,
Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will
be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our
trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
THE HAIL MARY
Hail Mary, full of
grace. The Lord is with Thee. Blessed art Thou amongst women, and
blessed is the fruit of Thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners,
now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
THE APOSTLES' CREED
I believe in God, the Father
Almighty, Creator of Heaven and earth. I
believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by
the Holy Ghost and born of the Virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified,
died, and was buried. He descended into Hell. On the third day he rose again
from the dead. He
ascended into heaven, sitteth at the right hand of God the Father
Almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in
the Holy Ghost, the Holy Catholic Church, the Communion of Saints, the forgiveness of
sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen
Then, on the LARGE BEAD BEFORE EACH DECADE you
will say the following words:
Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Body and Blood,
Soul and Divinity of Thy dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our
sins and those of the whole world.
|
Then on the 10 SMALL BEADS OF EACH DECADE you
will say the following words:
For the sake of His sorrowful
Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.
|
In conclusion recite these words THREE TIMES :
Holy God, Holy Mighty One,
Holy Immortal One,
have mercy on us and on the
whole world."
THREE 0' CLOCK
IN THE AFTERNOON IS
THE HOUR OF GREAT
MERCY
As one reads the DIARY of the Servant of God
St. Faustina, one comes upon this little prayer:
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean
of mercy opened up for the whole world. O fount of life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelope the whole world and empty Thyself out upon us. (IV, 59)
Immediately after these words, and without any further explanation,
St.
Faustina records this unexpected request of Our Lord:
"At three o'clock implore My mercy
especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, steep yourself in My Passion,
particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for
the whole world. In this hour I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me
in virtue of My Passion." (IV, 59).
