Specific Drugs

1. For obvious reasons, none of the performance-enchancing substance favored by athletes are obtainable over-the-counter at the corner drugstore.
2. The most glaring mission in baseball's drug policy -- and perhaps in all of professional sports -is a failure to screen for steroids.
3. No other league carries out random testing of veterans, for either category of drugs.
4. Because athletes intent on using performance-anchancing drugs usually have little trouble obtaining them, drug testing by necessity becomes the last line of defense against rampant sports doping.
