Act I, Scene ii

Caesar: Calphurnia!

Casca: Shut up! It's Caesar's turn to talk.

Calphurnia: Here.

Caesar: Stand in Antonius's way when he runs the course.

Antony: Caesar me lord.

Caesar: Don't go so fast that you miss Calphurnia. Make sure you hit her so she can have a baby.

Antony: I remember when Caesar tells me to do something.

Caesar: Go on and don't leave anything out.

Soothsayer: Caesar!

Caesar: What? Who yelled me name?

Casca: Be quiet!

Caesar: Who out there is calling me? I heard someone louder thaan. The music call my name. Say something, I'm listening.

Soothsayer: Watch out for the Ides of March.

Caesar: Who is that?

Brutus: The fortune teller says watch out for the Ides of March.

Caesar: Send him to me. I want to see him.

Cassius: Come here, Caesar wants to see you.

Caesar: What did you say to me? I want to hear it again.

Soothsayer: Watch out for the Ides of March.

Caesar: He is a fool. Let's go.

Cassius: Will you go watch the race?

Brutus: No.

Cassius: I wish that you would.

Brutus: I'm not a sports fan. I'm not like Antony. Don't let me hold you back. I'll go anyway.

Cassius: I've been watching you lately. You're not as happy as you used to be. You've changed.

Brutus: I know I've changed. I know I have let my friends down. I'm having problems with myself.

Cassius: I've mistaken you. I had my own thoughts about you. Can you see what you're doing?

Brutus: No, I can't see myself.

Cassius: That's true. And it's too bad because I've heard a lot of people talking about how they want you to be their king.

Brutus: What are you trying to lead me to do? Being a king is not me.

Cassius: Listen Brutus, you don't know your own potential. I'm going to tell you things you wouldn't see on your own.

Brutus: Why is everyone yelling? I think people want Ceasar to be their king.

Cassius: You're afraid. So I guess you don't want Caesar to be king.

Brutus: No, even though I like him. Why are you keeping my here so long? It should be for the good of the people. Tell me what you want and I won't judge you.

Cassius: I know you'd be a good king. wht should Caesar be king? One day Caesar and I made a bet about who could swim across a flooded river. Caesar couldn't make it, and I had to pull himt o shore. He started shaking and whining like a little girl.

Brutus: I think those shouts are for soemthing else Caesar did well.

Cassius: Why is he so powerful and we're so weak? What is it about his name that makes him so great? Your name is just as good. What is he eating that makes him so big? What's so good about Caesar? You're named after a legend who drove corrupt kings out of Romes and founded teh Roman Republic.

Brutus: I know that you would help me, but what are you trying to do? I think I have an idea. I'll think about what you said, but think about this; I'd rather be a bum than a king.

Cassius: That's okay. At least you'll think about it.

Brutus: The race is over. Caesar's on his way home.

Cassius: Grab Casca and see what happened.

Brutus: I will but Caesar looks angry.

Cassius: Casca will tell us what the deal is.

Caesar: Antonius!

Antony: Caesar?

Caesar: Let me have fat, bald-headed guys that sleep at night. Cassius can't be trusted. He thinks too much.

Antony: Don't worry. He's not dangerous. he's a noble Roman. And presents himself well.

Caesar: I don't trust him, but I'm not afraid of him. I'm afraid of no one. I just don't like the guy. Now get on my right side because my left ear is deaf.
