Inside the Home
The key to harmony inside the home is to have rooms organized, well-ventilated and pleasant to look at. The colors feel most soothing when they are warm-toned. Harmonious colors with few patterns contribute to a peaceful environment.

Lighting
Lighting not only gives you the opportunity to create harmonious, pleasant visual effects, it also represents the spiritual side of life. You don't want the light bulbs to be bare or the lighting to be harsh. It's visually and spiritually jarring. Without proper lighting, every other effort to create harmony will be lost. Soft lighting will increase harmony even in houses which have many inharmonious factors. Good lighting covers a host of sins!

The Kitchen Stove
Of course the entire house is clean and well-aired, but in particular, the kitchen stove-top represents the temperament in the household. Clue: Whoever cleans the stove-top may create more harmony for themselves. Alas, the household member needing most inner harmony may want to clean the stove-top!

Fish and Plants
Having fish as pets develops observation skills; and keeping plants symbolizes an ability to perceive delicate life energy. Both are caring activities and create harmonizing influences in a household.

Gew Gaws
Sentimental objects, also known as gew gaws, or nic nacs, establish a mood of permanence which can contribute to harmony. If you would like to feel that your love life, as is, is permanent -- put you or your mate's favorite gew gaws in the bedroom. Same goes for other categories. . Examples: if you want permanence in your established social life put the gew gaws in the living room or for maintaining the relationships with in-laws and extended family, put the gew gaws in the dining room. Warning: Gew Gaws can have a 'no-growth' influence. Make sure you are content with what they all represent.
You may not want to decorate the basement with gew gaws as that would emphasize the importance of 'the underside' of life. Basements are a good place for washing machines, which represent purification. And, speaking of washing machines, for harmony make it habitual -- don't miss laundry day!

Trash
Trash is best out of the way and out of view.
Little trash baskets that blend in with the decorations can be placed in strategic places to renew and refresh life's predicaments. If you would like to change your love life, pick an out-of-the-way place in the bedroom for a basket. For getting out of debt and improving financial fluidity, put a basket next to your desk, or the area where you pay your bills. For other areas of the house, feel what they represent to you. . . If the area represents something you want renewal in, place a basket that blends in that area.
An example: If you feel your hopes and dreams with your mate are stagnent and are not being realized quickly, put the basket near the bedroom window, since the bedroom windows symbolize your dreams with your mate, to get the life force moving in that area and your hopes realized. See Love. Another love life example: If your lover (or lovers) have been all the 'wrong ones', and you want to find someone suitable -- for a short while put a basket next to the bed. Trash baskets are great energy movers.
One warning about trash baskets: Bathtubs, the great harmony-inducer, with all that water, represent life force and in no case should a basket be next to the tub. . . it could be anti-life! For a special note on bathtubs, see Fun.

Windows
Picture windows are a gracious way to express harmony with your world. Small windows should be avoided because they state symbolically that you believe the world is an unfriendly place. If you feel that is your reality, move to a smaller, friendlier town or, if you have to be in a city, move to an apartment on a top floor of a safe highrise and overlook everything. Either one will create a feeling of harmony in your world.

Outside the Home
To be 'covered' in harmony, the roof over your head should be in repair, at least. Different roofs symbolize different qualities:

Black roofs: protection
Green roofs: dependence on athletic energy in household
Tin roofs: self-reliance and independence
White roofs: social responsibility
Orange roofs: humanness, but you'll have to answer many inquiries.

If it's harmony you desire, you will be fortunate to have an outside door facing North. A North door will contribute to people coming and going without anger. It will also support refined sensibilities inside the household.
