Writing

Some people carry a rabbit's foot for good luck. This practice comes from ancient times, when people believed that rabbits had magical powers because they had so many young. People believed that if they carried part of the animal, they too would have many children.

This is an example of a good luck charm. A modern day example is the many professional athletes who wear their lucky jersey, glove, or skates etc. What do you think about lucky charms? Is it reasonable to have a lucky charm? Why do people use lucky charms? Do you have one? Are their any lucky charms that are popular in your country? How about things that bring bad luck?

This is a small essay. It should be between half a page and a page in length. Organize your answer into an introductory paragraph including a thesis statement (your position on this topic), and two or three other paragraphs including a conclusion. Also, write a title for your essay.

Write your answer using MS Word. Make sure that your answer has the following features of a standard essay format.

Refer to the Keystoke Notes below to help you with this formatting.

When you are finished,

  1. Show your essay to your CALL teacher before printing.
  2. Print your short essay and hand it in to your CALL teacher.
