In January I got a promotion at work, where I went from being a

glorified intern to having a real position in Product Development. It

means I get to be alot more involved in the design process, which is

great for me. Basically my job is to take the designs my boss comes up

with and make sure they get made the way he intended. I have to

communicate with our factory in China a fair amount, so I asked to

visit so that I could get a better idea of how things work there, and

to my surprise, they said yes! I was there for three and a half days

and spent 2 and a half in an airplane, but it was worth it. I went with

one of my bosses and we spent the majority of our time in the factory

in Shenzen, about an hour inside the Chinese border, but we spent the

last night in Hong Kong and got a quick tour of the city. So here is me

on the ferry between Kowloon and Hong Kong checking out the city

lights. Hopefully I'll get to go back, and for a little longer next

time - but I don't want to get stuck going 6 times a year and staying

for 2 weeks each time, like my boss did last year - so I'm keeping my

mouth shut for now and being thankful for the trip I had.
