Loki was the only Aesir that wasn't a proper god. In fact, he was a fire demon that was so charming towards the gods that they had made him one of the Aesir. He was handsome, young, clever and had magically powers that allowed him to fly and change shape. He was god of material technology invention and science. Once when he changed into a mare, he became pregnant and gave birth to Odin's horse Sleipnir. He was also father to Fenris Hel (Queen of the underworld) amd the Midgard Serpent.
He seemed to be friends with the gods, yet wanted to destroy their kingdom and often brought nothing but trouble to Asgard. He hated Heimdall and was jealous of Balder. After being the reason for Balder's death, the gods tied him down to a rock in a dark cave. they put a pisonous sname above him, but let his wife Sigyn hold a bowl to stop the poison dropping on Loki. he escaped and led an army of giants and monsters, including Fenrir against the gods in the Battle of Ragnarok. He fought against Heimdall and they both died of their wounds. Loki never returned.
