Rainstorm

Listen...listen...
What's that sound?
Could that be rain
Falling to the ground?
A thrill flows through me
As lightning fills the air
The power of the storm
Lets me know it's there.

Hear it tapping
On the tin roof overhead?
I close my eyes and listen
As I'm lying in bed.
A deafening silence
Just rain falling on tin
The seconds tick by
And thunder rolls again.

Hear the thunder
Rolling soft and low
And the storm comes closer still
I can hear it grow.
The pauses grow longer
The rain slows its pace
I look out the window
To see the world's a brand new place.
