The trees now wear a faded green
Summer's almost done
Soon Mother Earth will change things
And another year will be gone.
Color of Fire red, yellow and orange
Faded green and varied brown
With Autumn rain and gusty wind
All come falling down.
The rain falls often to cool things down
The days grow short and chill
A welcome relief to summer heat
In the air a quiet still. The carpet now beneath my feet
Is soft with a color kiss
As if the Mother were tossing in things
Just to make Autumn bliss.
Mother Earth tucks the Nature in
For a soft, gentle Winter sleep
The leaves are like a downy quilt
Soft and warm and deep.Nature now is quiet and still
A sleepy feeling in the air
And all around me is at peace
Enjoying Autumn fair.
