This pain I feel

this pain I feel

it is inside of Me
not sure where it starts
or even where it ends
does it end

this pain I feel

I want to let it out
yet I hold it in
as though it is precious
is it meant to be like this
I am not submissive
yet it dominates Me

this pain I feel

it is like an open wound
that doesn't heal with a bandage
it only heals with time
so they say
although they don't say how long
or how much time it will take

this pain I feel

does it last forever
or just a lifetime
you may not see it when u look at Me
but it is there
it is not on the surface
it is hidden
hidden deep inside of Me
it comes out sometimes
just to remind Me
it hasn't gone away
