This project has given me the chance to correspond with several inmates (latest count is approximately 40). It has been a wonderful learning experience and I am pleased to say that during this process I have begun to consider many of these inmates my friends and for many reasons I feel blessed to have them in my life. |
It is not my intention to make this site a "personals" arena. For that reason, I have not supplied you with any "personal" information (i.e. age, race, likes & dislikes). However, while getting to know these individuals, I have come to realize the importance that mail plays in their daily lives. It is for this reason that I have decided to make available the addresses to those inmates that appear on this site, as well as those who I am currently corresponding with yet have not created pages for. |
It is my hope that you will be touched by the art, poetry, and personal reflections found throughout my site and feel the desire to correspond with them. If you choose to do so, please do so with an open mind. These inmates are diverse in their likes and dislikes, and enjoy discussing a wide range of topics (from politics to family). The correspondence that I have had with these inmates thus far has been very interesting and intellectually stimulating. I can tell you that I look forward to recieving letters from them as much as they look forward to hearing from me. Do not write to these inmates if you in anyway wish to "express" feelings of hatred. It has been my experience that those inmates listed are more than willing to offer honesty and friendship and expect very little in return. While corresponding, please feel free to mention me and this site. I am sure they would appreciate any feed-back that you would like to offer. |
In closing, I would like to mention that all of the art and poetry that is displayed on this site is done so with the permission of the inmate involved. Select inmates that appear on this site, privately sell their art in the form of greeting cards (most notibley Louis A. Delgado III, Nino Cruz, and Alexander Martinez). I strongly urge anyone interested in obtaining this personalized art to contact the inmate directly. |
Unfortunately, due to my personal demands and time restrictions, I am unable to forward letters to inmates that may be sent to me via e-mail. So, I urge you to contact the inmates directly if you so choose to correspond. |
Always, |
Jennifer |
