The Goddess and the Wondering Eyes |
|
|
Hidden beyong a fortress of stone |
Unseen to the eye, where no man roams, |
There lives a goddess upon her throne |
Who shadows her secrets alone... |
Where spiritual treasures remain untold. |
A virgin to love, heart broken, cold. |
Victimized by distrust, Experience she holds |
in this state of emotional mold... |
Each day she prepares and makes her rounds |
through flourishing gardens, to till the grounds; |
Unconscious of the watchful eye she's found |
The eyes of the one left spellbound... |
A wall of strength separates her fear |
This unbreakable shield allows no one near. |
To the common onlooker it's purpose unclear. |
For many failed to embrace that listening ear. |
Yet arose one warrior who passioned his fate |
Dare tempt this young goddess to consider him mate. |
A stranger to fear, well armored with gear |
Her presence beneath his breastplate... |
"Come out of your castle" shouts the young knight |
Peering through fine cracks, wishing invite. |
Only catching a glimpse of her pre-eminent sight |
Memorized by this precious delight... |
But at the sound of his voice she runs to hide, |
Refusing to let this young warrior inside. |
Left hurt by his wish that's been denied, |
Unsure what to do, he swallows his pride... |
And to her refusal the lad replies |
through shivery lips and sorrowful cries. |
"Today you run, tomorrow you hide, |
But you'll never escape my wondering eyes"... |
