Review of Sky concert at GM Place July 25th 1999

All that I can say is Sky was better than Michael Fredo, Steps and Britney Spears' performances combined. And even then, those three combined are still no match against Sky's July 25th performance at GM Place in Vancouver. Unlike the other 3 acts, Sky didn't waste time by teaching the audience how to dance a certain dance routine or by doing costume changes. Sky was superior compared to the other 3 in that they have actual stage presence and they don't dress up their performance with choreographed dances and dancers and overpowering music. It's just Antoine and James with their small four-man band. They were only on for 30 minutes but every minute was maxed. They sang the following songs:
Push (Antoine ran out on stage and got the audience excited and then the music for Push started and James came out playing the guitar),
America (I can't remember when Antoine picked up the bass but it was either for this song or Strange or SKW...I forget),
Love Song,
An unknown rap song (James can definitely hold his own when he staccato raps) which is their own rap song but the chorus is taken from Lil' Kim's "Crush On You" (for those of you who didn't know),
introduced the band,
Strange,
and then Some Kinda Wonderful.
They encouraged the audience to sing with them on Some Kinda Wonderful but the Sky fans in the audience had already joined with them right when Push started. They crammed all of that into 30 minutes and you wonder why Sky is the opening act and not the headlining?
