Sky cover all genres of music with Piece of Paradise: the old 70s R&B/Soul sounding "Push,", the Brit pop sounding "Some Kinda Wonderful",the rock/slight hip-hop (referring to drum beats) feel of "Love Song," the R&B/Rap inspired "Powder," the folkish "America," the 80s/Futuristic "Strange" and the only pure, typical pop song "All I Want." Every song is listenable but that doesn't mean there aren't some that are skippable (sorry if anyone likes these songs). "All I Want" leans towards too typical sappy pop. The lyrics for "You and I" are too familiar...like I've heard the same phrases being used in other songs and the melody isn't that great either. And "Last Time I Saw You" has a nice hook, but the lyrics once again kill the song.
I'm sorry if Sky worked forever on the aforementioned songs' lyrics and music for days on end, but I just can't be down with them. Finally, the songs that are worth a million spins on the CD player are definitely: Dreamin', I Will Survive, Love Song, Some Kinda Wonderful, Shave, and Powder.
