SKY MAKES CANADIAN RADIO HISTORY WITH #1 LOVE SONG

April 8th, 1999

Montreal supergroup Sky continues to set records as their second single Love Song is the first song by a Canadian group to hit #1 at Top 40 radio since the inception of BDS in Canada. In fact, Sky is only the fourth Canadian artist to have a #1 song at Top 40 radio on the BDS charts. The other songs that attained the #1 position are Sarah McLachlan's Building A Mystery, Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On, and Alanis Morrisette's Thank U.

This is the second Canadian record that Sky has shattered. Sky's #6 retail debut for their album Piece of Paradise was the highest entry by a new Canadian artist since the inception of Soundscan. Piece of Paradise was certified Platinum within a month of its release and has been a mainstay at the top of the National Retail Chart since its debut.

In addition to Love Song hitting #1 at Top 40 radio, the video for this song, directed by Jef Renfroe, is #1 at Much Music and #2 at MusiquePlus this week. The smash hit is also #4 at Adult Contemporary radio in Canada. A limited edition retail single featuring Boomtang Boys' remixes of Love Song is scheduled for an April 20th release. This follows the retail single for Sky's first hit Some Kinda Wonderful which peaked at #4 on the National Retail Singles chart.

Internationally, the momentum begins to build. Currently, Sky's James and Antoine are on a U.S. promotional tour after which they will be heading to Germany, France, Finland, Norway, Sweden and South Canadian fans can look forward to some tour dates with Sky this summer. Last weekend James and Antoine just shot a new video in Toronto, also with director Jef Renfroe. The release date of this video is still to be determined.

East Asia for more promotion. The U.S. and Japan will be releasing Piece of Paradise on June 29th, with the U.K. to follow.
