Laura's Concert Review
On
July 25th me and my 2 pals head to the HMV in Vancouver an hour early.
Looking out the window I spot the line I thought not so bad. Wrong! The
line goes right around the block! After a little while, though, we're
almost there. A security guard comes out about 10 people in front of me and
announces that Sky can't stay much longer and makes a line cut off. I
yelled out that we waited almost an hour in line. He mumbles some
apologies. It wasn't anyone's fault just not enough time I guess. Me and
my friends went into HMV and got a reasonable good viewing spot. James
looked almost surprised at the turn out as he signed autographs and
occasionally chatted to fans and Antoine. It was unreal I mean you don't
even realize that they're real when you only see them on TV, man was I
whining about the cut off and how cute James looked! (Don't deny it you'd do
the same! hehehehe.) My friends aren't as big of a fan as I was so they
dragged me out for shopping. Needless to say I wasn't in the mood. Anyway
later we headed to the concert. Buzz Bishop, and DJ at the presenting radio
station Z95.3, started it off by telling about the artists playing. Then he
asked, "Who here thinks James and Antoine of Sky are hot?" I screamed as
loud as possible. Micheal Fredo kicked it off he was kinda like Jordan
Knight (solo artist from New Kids on the Block.) Then Steps, and English
band, who sounded pretty much like the Spic Girls. So I was mostly
uninterested. Sky, of course, was next. The backup band started playing
then Antoine ran out on stage. He yelled out, "Hey what's up Vancouver!"
Lotsa noise in reply. James then appeared doing that cute little
hopping/dance thing he does. They started singing "Push" the opening song.
They wore same as at the autograph session. James in red pants, a yellow
shirt, denim jacket and the now famous Canada Day pair of yellow sunglasses.
Antoine in black pants, red tank and a black bucket hat. Next they sang
"America and before the next song James said, "This is one of my favorites."
Straight away I knew it was "Love Song". The next song was rap/r&b song I
hadn't heard before. Sky used it for introducing the band. Antoine did
most of it but James introduced the drummer in his words, "He's one kick ass
drummer!" After they played "Strange" and finished with "Some Kinda
Wonderful". They both said, "Thank you very much!" waved and left the
stage. I bought the new shirt ,that someone at Phat Royale designed, at a
stand. (you can see what it looks like at Sky's official page.) Britney
Spears was kind of gruelling to listen to, but after we left.
So that's my story you can email if ya like.
