Shooting
at Columbine High School
Last
month, 2 teens decided they were "Mad as hell and not going to take it
anymore." They went crazy and shot a bunch of people, including themselves.
That saved us the money of having the state do it. If these idiots
want to go insane in a high school, they'd better get rid of themselves,
too so that I don't have to pay for them to die. Since then, a number
of schools have reported similar incidents as that of Columbine.
Exactly 1 month later, a kid went into a school with a rifle and started
shooting because his girlfriend broke up with him. I have a message
for that kid: WAKE UP! You're only 17 years old!
you have decades ahead of you! So your girlfriend broke up with you,
so what? Go out and find another one! There's billions of 'em!
Since
these shootings, people have been quick to point to different sources of
the problem. Harris and Klebold listened to Marylin Manson, so I
guess Marilyn Manson should be going to jail because his music caused these
kids to go crazy. Yeah Right. I listen to Black Sabbath, and
I'm 17. Does that mean that I have a problem and should go to counseling
because I might shoot people? No, it simply means I have good taste
in music. Everyone is so quick to point the finger at the TV, music,
movies, or even video games and don't stop to think that maybe, just maybe,
that these kids shot people, not their TV, stereo,
or Nintendo. I myself own a gun, a stereo, a TV, a VCR, and I listen
to any kind of music I can get my hands on(Except country music, I discourage
inbreeding). I'm not going to bring the gun to school singing Metallica,
toting a shotgun and trying to act like Duke Nukem. What you press
and all you adults need to realize is that you were kids once, too.
When you listened to the Beatles, which was considered pretty far out for
that era, did you want to go on a shooting spree? Of course not,
because you made your own decisions, or followed your friends, which is
a pretty stupid idea anyways. Stop trying to lay the blame on someone
else and take responsibilty for your own actions.
