Hint: When baking cookies, it is always best to get them off the hot cookie sheets quickly when they come out of the oven. Place them on a wire rack to cool.
Want to make this recipe a tiny bit less high in fat? Try substituting applesauce for the shortening. We have never tried it, but this is a common practice in high fat dessert recipes, so it might work. Special note: When we say this is Grandma's recipe, we really mean it. This recipe came from Joyce Goodrich who passed it down to her daughter who passed it on to her husband and their daughters. |
These cookies should hve less than 1 gram of fat per cookie. It should produce at least 4 dozen cookies. Special note: You can try variations of this recipe. You probably noticed that not all ingredients are given with exact amounts. Be brave. Experiment. Soon you may be publishing your own recipe. |
Watch for more cookie recipes to appear here when we have time to write them down. One that will be coming for sure is Grandma's recipe for SNICKERDOODLES!
