Would you have scoffed at the idea of war?

I probably would not have thought that the United States would not go to war since what was happening in Europe was so far away. It didn’t seem to effect us and our everyday lives so why would we be involved in problems with Serbs and Slavics. President Wilson promised that he would keep us out of any foreign wars.
