OPPS!

 
A strange thing happened when I tried to check my e-mail yesterday. The line was dead. No dial tone. There was a very good reason for this. The check for the phone company was still sitting on my desk. It has not been applied to my account.

My friend, this is easily corrected in this case and I will have lost little other then a day of not having a phone. BUT has I have mentioned many times, in order to have a debt paid, we have to apply the payment to our account. It did me little good to have the money sitting in my bank, to have written an order for the bank to pay the said amount to the phone company and then to leave it sitting on my desk. You see, for the debt to be payed...it HAS to be applied to our account.

Jesus Christ paid for our debt of SIN. You see, we have all sinned and come short of the mark God has set for us. (Romans 3:23) We are all told that the only price WE can pay for our sin is to be eternally seperated from God. (Romans 6:23) However God loves us soo much that He sent His SON JESUS so that if any of us believes in HIM, we will not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) Jesus became Sin for us so that we can be made the righteousness of God in Him. (II Cor 5:21)

Much as there was a DUE date for my phone bill, there is a DUE date for you too my friend. That due date is TODAY.

2 Corinthians 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.) Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.

My mistake of not applying my payment for my phone will have cost me a day or two of phone service. If I had not asked God to apply the payment Christ made for my sin, it would have cost me an eternity without GOD.

I knew I had the funds to pay my phone bill. It was sitting on my desk. Do YOU know that your sin has been paid for? Have YOU asked God to apply Christ's payment to YOUR account or is it still sitting in your head? You see my friend, knowing the facts does not save us.... Asking God to credit Christ's payment to our account for sin DOES.
