CHAPTER THREE

"Is this the part where I'm supposed to like, you know......kiss you?" - Jacob

"No..," I thought out a loud, "I mean, it's a date, but like, a serious date or like just going out with Lily, oh wait........ahhhhhhhhhh, I gotta calm down..." It was 6:30pm and I found myself walking around in circles, I was so nervous, it was Friday, and my date with Lily was at 7:30, an hour!! "So much time left!!" this wasn't fair, today I was really nervous, I forgot all about the basketball team, I didn't pay attention to my classes, I just kept thinking about the date! but it was just a date!! "Calm down" I thought, I really needed to calm down, or I was gonna freak out and ruin everything.

I turned on the T.V., click through all the channels, and before I knew I was turning off the T.V. and saaying "nothing good on T.V." I picked up the phone and.............dialed Brian's phone number.....he picked it up..
"HEy man" I said.
"What up?" He answered.
"I..uh...well, I..what are you doing?" I sounded like a total idiot.
"Uh..homework"
"you LIAR! you expect me..I mean, you.....AH! Never mind" I exclaimed.
"What's wrong with YOU??" he asked confused.
"The date man, the date!"
"Oh....yeah, that's right, the date, well calm down man."
"Yeah right, it's not that easy!"
"Well, watch T.V."
"There's nothing good on T.V."
"I know"
"Well, why the fuck do you tell me to watch it??" I laughed.
"..........I dunno......" he answered.
"You're not helping!" I yelled.
"I know.." he said.
"AH, SHUT UP!!"
"hehehehe, don't freak out on me man"
"I'm not freaking out I'm just nervous, I mean, it's not freaking out, it's just oh never mind"
"O.....K......"
"Ok"
"What have you been smoking??" he said dead serious.
"Pot" I said proudly.
"No shit man!" he bursted out laughing.
"GOD, this is killing me, why do I feel like this???" I asked desperate.
"Coz...you're nervous"
"really?"
"Yeah"
"really?"
"Yeah"
"Really, REALLY??"
"Shut the fuck up Bacon!"
"Bacon!?"
"....................uh, yeah?"
"You're the one on pot man!"
"Of course, my doctor prebscribed it, I payed him 50 bucks"
"Kick ass!"
"Loser"
"Asshole"
"Yeah, whatever"

Then I heard Brian's mom saying something to him, I could hear him going "What??" then she said something and he went, "GOtta hang up man, mom's telling me she needs da phone" "oh ok man, take care now, bye bye then" I said.
"Bye"

I hung up the phone, I decided it was time to take a bath, it was like 7 o' 5 when I came out. I got dressed, put on the best clothes I could pick out of my closet, I put on some perfume, maked sure my hair was as messed up as could be, put on my shoes, and got downstairs.

"Dad, let's go..." was the first thing I said, "Ok, c'mon" he said. The mall was about 15 mins from were I live, so it really didn't take long, I got there right on time at 7:28, I waited at the top of the entrance's stairs for about 10 minutes, and then she showed up, oh so beautiful. she had a bright red shirt, with short sleeves, and a white, almost transparent, little coat that had short sleeves too, but just got down to her belly, it was kept together by one button at her chest. A small little pendant hung tight aound her neck, and she wore white cargos that were a bit loose. She raised her head to look at me from the bottom of the stairs and pushed her soft brown hair behind her ear with her right hand, then she smiled, from ear to ear, with her beautiful blue eyes, I was just dazzled.

I quickly got down and greeted her.
"Hi" she said.
"Hi!" I said, and let out a sigh of relief. "I'm so glad you could make it." She smiled.
"Me too."
"So, which movie do you want to see?" I asked, smiling of course.
"Oh, I don't know, let's check which ones are showing, ok?"
"ok" I said.

Then I closed my eyes and quikly grabbed her hand, and then opened my eyes again. she just held on to it, I was so lucky!! We walked around the mall, saw stores, we talked about things we saw and such, so far the night was good. We got to the movies stand and I started checking the list of movies...there really any romantic movies to watch, and c'mon, a romantic movie, I had to try and not make this my night of proposal to Lily, I offered to see "Cruel Intentions", "I heard it's good" she said. And I knew it had Sarah Michelle Gellar, but this time I could really care less, I was going to be next to be to the real woman of my dreams! I bought the tickets, and we came in..

This movie was really weird-ass, every once in a while, when something really weird happened I would look at her to see what was her expression of it at the moment, she would look at me and laugh, "what are you doing?" she would say. And I'd say "nothing really.." then she smiled, and I smiled, and we kept watching the movie.

She cried during the last scenes of the movie, it was a really tough ending, you'd never expect it. She layed her head on my shoulder, and I just thought of how lucky I was at the moment. And I put my hand on her head and just feel her hair, it was very soft really, and that's how we stayed till the movie ended. When the movie was done, she was like "It was cool" and I said "Yes it was".

When we got out of the movies, what you'd naturally expect is us walking back home, no way, it's 15 mins on car!! We just walked for a while around the mall, holding hands, talking about the movie and all sorts of things, we just got along so well. Then the time came when we each had to go home, I called my dad and she called hers. We walked some more and when we were getting to the entrance, she saw her dad's car and she let go of my hand and started walking towards it, we were still too far inside for him to see us. Then I grabbed her by the hand, and said "wait" she looked at me and smiled, "what is it?", I took a gulp and dared to ask, "Is this the part where I'm supposed to like, you know......kiss you?". She didn't answer, we stared at each other for a while, and without saying any word, we just closed our eyes and got slowly closer to and closer to each other, until finally, I felt my lips against her soft lips, it was weird, yet it seemed so normal, it only lasted a few seconds and we only opened our mouths a little bit, but those few seconds were just something I had never experienced before, when we stopped, we slowy backed away, and opened our eyes, we had just kissed each other! We didn't talk, I could read her mind at the moment, she was as confused as I was, not knowing if what she was feeling was love or guilt, she whispered quietly "bye" and I saw her leave, I just stood there, not believing what had just happened, I had kissed the girl of my dreams, and she had just kissed me back, I felt I had sinned and confessed at the same time. My lips just didn't feel the same after that moment, after that first kiss...
