Refugees welcomed in Malta

Tuesday, May 25th 1999, an Airmalta passenger plane lands at the Malta International Airport carrying 105 Kosovar Refugees, brought by the Maltese Government from Macedonia.   They were tired and also scared, since they had never been to Malta before and hence did not know what awaited them.   But it did not take long for all of them to realise that Malta welcomed them with open arms.
Here they met the friendly faces of the soldiers of the 3rd Regiment of the Armed Forces of Malta, who are hosting them for a couple of weeks till they can settle down.

The only way I could have their photos on this page was by promising them that I would have mine on the page too!
