The Anglican Communion is a worldwide fellowship of Christian churches who worship in the Anglican tradition.
The symbolic head of the Communion (the Archbishop) resides in Canterbury, England.
(The picture on the right is the Compass Rose, the symbol of the worldwide Anglican Communion.)
The history of the denomination, as well as the broader Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church is full of theological tensions and separations. This has been keenly felt most recently in the events leading up to and following the consecration of a practicing homosexual bishop in the US, Bp Gene Robinson.
