The Story of Sir Kain

Quickly, the pure white stallion ran forward. Its muscles straining to go faster as its haunches tightened. The rhythm of its clean shimmering hooves hit the ground in a steady pace as clouds of dirt flew through the air. The rider wore bright shimmering blue armor, the trims sparkling gold. The effect was dazzling. The rider was tall, and strong with blue eyes and brown hair with a strong face. He was built well and obviously strong.

His sister, Tara, had been kidnapped by the knight Kkanon of Denaya. He rode north knowing it was there but not knowing where specifically and not thought it out in his rush.

He came upon an old woman who halted him and spoke. "You are on a quest are you not"

"To find my fair sister Tara, she has been kidnapped. Do you, by chance, know where she may be?"

"That I do, I tell you will I for one favor. My child Cecil is stuck on an island of ice in the lake near here and can't swim. If thou shalt save him you may know of the place in which you seek. But you also must make him your squire and teach him to be a knight."

"Very well, madam, I will go to rescue your child and he shall serve me as a squire"

Sir Kain rode on to the lake. When he got there he saw a small boy on a sheet of ice in the middle of the lake. The boy, the woman had earlier explained was trapped by a magician’s petty trick. The boy was probably 16, blond blue eyed. Sir Kain called to the boy he would come and be ready. Sir Kain then stripped off his armor and clothes and swam to the sheet. Little did he know that the sorceress Denaya watched him. He had the boy take off and throw all his clothes to shore crawl on his back. He noticed the boy was large and muscular probably the sporty type. He swam then to shore with the boy on his back. When they were on shore they put on their clothes and Sir Kain explained himself as they rode to the old woman.

"Old woman," said Sir Kain, "your child is safe, if you could please tell me where to find my sister."

"She is in the castle to the west n the forest.

Cecil replied, "I can show you the way for I’ve passed it many times. Plus I owe you for taking me on your back and helping me. Come let us go on."

The castle was high and dark made of stone. Along the turrets were iron shields with the emblem of a red shield with dragons on either side and a black spear through the center. "Come out knight and accept my challenge!"

The rotted drawbridge lowered with a creek from the rusted chains. Out came a huge knight clad in black armor. He came out with his spear seven feet long in his hand.

Kkanon screamed, "Why do you challenge me!"

"I am Sir Kain of the Round Table, you have my sister and I challenge you for her!"

"Very well" Sir Kain had Cecil take his stallion to the side and hand him his long sword.

Kkanon lunged and was blocked. Sparks like shards of fiery ice flew about. The battle raged for hours. Kain flew his sword to Kkanon and Kkanon dodged and drove his spear into Kain’s shoulder and picked him off the ground by it. Kain screamed in pain and in a rush of power put the spear in his hands lifted his opponent off the ground took it out of his shoulder. Kkanon was still holding on in the air in amazement and Sir Kain threw him off a cliff.

Cecil opened the door with a creek and led Sir Kain in. "Sir Kain I see your sister!"

"Sister, you are there, good, the door is thick and locked, where would the key be?"

"A sorceress has it in the east high tower. You must go to this woman and be hers for a night she will only then give you the key to where I am locked. I will stay here with your squire Cecil."

Sir Kain flew up the winding staircase to the sorceress’ domain. The stairs were far and long lit dimly by torches glowing an orange flame as if each were a woman dancing for her husband in a wild sherad. At the top he flew open the door. "Why do you come," asked the woman. The witch was tall with brown hair and green eyes, dressed only in a small dress of silk and a cloth wrapped around her bosom tied in the back.

"I come for the key to the dungeon where a young lady is held in your castle."

"You may have the key but you must choose to be mine for a night in my bedroom or never see the girl again."

"I will for the key" That night he laid with her and after she left the castle and gave him the key.

He went down and unlocked her and took her and Cecil to his home in France. Here after he married lady Moira and had a son named Aaron Cecil became a knight at the age of 19. 1
