THE TRANSFER NEWS

BLOCKBUSTER TRADE
This week Inter Milan and Perugia were both invloved in one of the largest moves in the INSL to date. This trade saw All-star Japanese Midfielder Nakata move to Milan along with young teamate Di Bisceglia in return for Chilean star-striker Zamorano. This move will certainly bolster Perugia's struggling offence on the field, who only accounted for 4 goals in 3 games! While Inter will receive a promising young star in Nakata who is only 22 years old, which will rejuvenate Inter Milan even further.

In addition to this trade Perugia has also gained two new midfielders from AC Milan, Helveg and Morfeo in return for Petrachi, Bucchi and $3 million. The Perugian club is steadily beginning to shape up into a mighty force and has surprised most critics with its promising 2-1-0 start this season.

AS BARI MIDFIELDERS CAMPI AND OLIVARES REQUEST TRANSFERS
By Bari Press
Belgium international Olivares and french midfielder Campi have asked their teammanager for a transfer. They are dissatisfied being left out of the side. Especially promising youngster Campi has spoken out to the press. AS Bari is willing to negotiate with other teams, but they will not willing to let the players go without a transfer fee being paid.

BOLOGNA "GROWS UP"
By Bologna Press
After the recent succeses of Bologna, the fans are very hopefull for good results. The next three matches will show if their goal for this season, a spot among the top 8 teams, can be reached. A full house is expected this weekend for the match against Lazio, where the new players: SCHMEICHEL, DONI, F.INZAGHI and NEQROUS will be presented to the home audiance.
Insiders told me that some young prospects will also get a glimpse of Serie "A" footbal to learn the in's and out's from the more experienced players, but this could not be confirmed.
I asked the manager for his opinion on the present team of players, and why
he traded Signori :
"The selection of players we are having now should get us some nice results, and some surprises for our opponents. We can almost double cover all the positions, and therefore have a solid backup for injuries. I'm very happy with six young tallented guy's who will make the basis of future Bologna succeses. As far as Signori is concerned, he wasn't happy here in Bologna and as you know, and unhappy footballayer is a bad footbal player. We cooperated fully in his transfer to Juventus. With F.Inzaghi I think we have found a great replacement for him, this is a guy who can score 20+ goals a season."

And what about Antonioli, he made 12 saves for the team in 2 matches :
"Well....Antonioli was informed about the comming of Peter Schmeichel, and stated that he want's to leave Bologna if a good offer is made. He's a very good goalkeeper and we like to keep him on. On the other hand we can understand his present position and will cooperate with a possible transfer."

FABIO WILL STAY WITH PIACENZA DESPITE RUMOURS
By Piacenza Press
Rumours that Piacenza were about to trade Brazilian Fabio Junior were squashed this morning by manager Mark Douglas. Leaving the his office at the Galleana Stadium, Douglas said, "It is true
that we received a very generous offer from one of the big clubs for Fabio. It would be unfair to name the players offered in exchange, but in the end it didn't take me long to reply. Although three or four new faces would have boosted our squad, players like Fabio don't come around too often, and don't forget, he's still a young man with things to learn. He will get even better."

ORTEGA SENT TO FIORENTINA
After days of rumours, Sampdoria have completed the transfer of their All-star Argentinean striker Ortega with club Fiorentina. In return for the star, Sampdoria recieved German veteran Center-back Heinrich and over $5 million Euros. With these extra funds from the deal, the manager then purchased Free-agent foward Ganz and improved their shaky coaching staff.

Fiorentina have now improved their already capable arsenal of Fowards and will likely give AS Bari a run for their money this week. Fiorentina had a brush of tough luck early this season, running into both Inter Milan and AC Milan in the first two weeks of the season, which would account for their scary 0-0-2 record and their tough schedule doesn't  show any signs of  letting up any time soon with Bari and Perugia coming this week.
