Typing your paper:
- Your paper must be typed on a word processor.
- Do your rough draft on a word-processor and save the necessity of
re-typing your entire paper.
- Use 10 or 12 cpi or use 12 pt. font.
- Use the spell-checker.
Margins:
- Left: 1" or 1 1/4"
- All others: 1"
Format:
- Use double spacing except for long quotes.
- Indent the first line of each paragraph five
spaces.
- Underline (or italicize) foreign words and titles
of compositions.
Pagination:
- Covers and title pages do not count.
- Do not number the first page
- Begin numbering the second page of text (with
2)
- Number all pages at the bottom, centered.
- Most word-processing programs will do this
automatically for you.
- Do not number the bibliography
Citations:
Bibliography:
- Follow MLA Style
Manual guidelines.
- The word "Bibliography" should be centered at the
top of the first page of the Bibliography.
- The Bibliography will begin after the last page of
the body of the paper.
- The Bibliography should be alphabetized.
- Use the first word from your bibliography
list.
- This page should be similar if not identical to
your bibliography list.
