This was a story about a woman going back in time to find her soul mate. Hayden was dissatisfied with her life. She went back to the past, and realised that in the life when she first met her soul mate, they loved each other so much they were inseparable.
A misunderstanding changed their love to hate. Talis made a curse, that she will never love anyone but him. Cassandra said that he will always love her and want her, but never have her.
Their death pulled her back to the the Edwardian period where Hayden was in Catherine's body. Catherine was married to her soul mate, Adam Tavistock for a long time, but Catherine was actually still a virgin. Hayden knew it was because of the curse.
She thought of a way to get rid of the curse. When she finally did, she made Adam promise that he will find her and never leave her. When she returned to the present time, Catherine's soul clung to Hayden's soul. This explained the mysterious death of Lady Catherine recorded in reference books.
She was going to meet her soul mate. It was fated.
This is a very good book. I read it twice consecutively, and the book is not exactly very thin. I just couldn't bear to put it down.
