About The Watchers
I started to compose this piece
in 1967 when I was sixteen, but back then I called it High High
In The Sky and I could never get beyond the first lyric.
It was not until 1991 that I was able to complete this song for
I could never find what we composers call the hook in the melody
to bring it back around to the head.
This finally came to me as I was taping the passage of a UFO
that I called the ballerina because of its graceful twirling
movements it made as it crossed the sky.
This tape too is too long to try to put up on my site in total
and complete so I must cut it up to do so.
As this one UFO danced its way over my home I started to sing
to it in my head my long lost song and the only way I can put
it, is it sang back to me in my soul and just as suddenly my
head was filled with the music and the complete lyrics of the
song The Watchers.
I went straight inside and put down the music and lyrics.
In fact the music you will hear is from that very first taping.
This could have been done no other time before this for I had
only recently purchased my EPS Work Station but not only that
I had only that week gotten the discs with the very sounds I
needed to play what I had heard in my head.
As you may know from my experience of a sky within the sky UFOs
and music have a direct connection in my life.
The fact is the first piece of music I ever composed came after
that sighting.
The thing about The Watchers is that in its composition it encompasses
my life time of UFO experiences in its music and words.
When I heard the part that asks " Oh, oh, oh, what is the
answer?"
It was the Council Of The Winds that I heard doing this part
as I watched the craft moving.
This was the question they used to ask me when they first began
to speak to me after the Sky Within The Sky event.
They used to ask me questions about racism, war, fear, hatred,
cruelty to animals, the destruction of Earth by man, but mainly
why were we the way we were?
It was their questioning me this way that made me ask the question
to my high school teacher later on as to the origins of man,
that question being as to where did we come from, and how did
we go from monkeys seeking food to men seeking gold?
Most of the time I could only answer them "I don't know."
for in truth I was just a child during the times they first started
to ask me these questions.
As you know years later this question would lead me to writing
the article called "Sin Of the Gods" at this site.
Again this is not a first for them to interject themselves in
a song or music I have written either as they and the woman from
the roof did in a song called Point O that I will post here if
I can get its MBs down to an uploadable limit but that too is
another long, long story.
