The Night

The moon, a huge orb,
throws out a glowing light
in a midnight black sky
sprinkled with stars.

The water below shines,
as though thousands of diamonds
have been tossed about
by the gentle waves.

In the background
outlines of the foothills show
like sleeping giants
in bed for the night.

The tangy sea water
laps at the shore with the breeze,
caressing the sand,
like a lovers soft hand.

This night is so beautiful,
so peaceful.
A night to relax,
and dream.
