Daddy
His face, lined with age
His hair silver,
Fine and thin.
His frame shrinking, as disease
Takes his once strong body
And carves it away
Bit by bit.
His eyes, though dulled with pain,
Still sparkle with love
For his family,
His wife,
Kids,
Even though this life he knows he will soon
Say goodbye to.
His lips, thinner, pale,
Still smile,
A sad one perhaps,
But filled with courage
With what he knows his family will face
Ahead of them.
My father, a man, gone, and yet,
He lives,
In my heart,
My mind,
My pictures,
My children,
Never will I forget you
Daddy.
