They often also have piccolos and occassionally low flutes. You can check it online or send them an email to get the print version. Each individual owner sets the trial policy for their instrument.
The Flute Center of New York The Flute Center usually has a large assortment of professional and step-up flutes available and they have an easy trial policy where you only pay for shipping. They also have piccolos and headjoints available.
Carolyn Nussbaum Online Another consignment store which will ship you flutes to try. Selection varies, but often includes intermediate flutes.
J.L. Smith Another store with a large assortment of new flutes and also some used selection. He also stocks accessories and some music.
The Flute Exchange Owned by Ginger Hedrick, this is another place that buys or consigns flutes from individuals, but you deal through the company. They require a credit card number as security. Headjoints and piccolos as well, pretty much all professional.
FLUTE List Pages You can only list for-sale items on this page if you are a member of the FLUTE email listserv, but anyone can look on the page and contact the sellers. You deal directly with individuals. Some older listings may be out of date.
