Adam's Prerelease Deck - Dodged a Bullet
My deck was made in utter desperation. I opened the tournament pack and was a little upset to find only one good rare (Mobilization) and no good commons or uncommons. I sat there with my head in my hand. The Scourge packs we no help either... or at least I thought they weren't. Scourge was too new for any of those cards to mean anything. I watched the people next to me make their decks and I was literally just sitting there. So... Mobilization. I needed soldiers. I found that I actually had seven soldiers and that made me happy. And with that half the deck was made. My problem was that I had no other solid color. I figured green. What the hell, why not? Bunch of elves and stuff... blah. I'm not going to sit here and lie to you. I had no idea if it was going to do any good at all. I put some big fatties in. I put in the nifty dragon (Eternal Dragon) and the landcyclers (Wirewood Guardian, Elvish Aberration, Noble Templar).
I think I got really freaking lucky. I never had a bye but at the end of the day I was 4 - 1. By the final round I was looking at winning a prize. It was posted that a 4-1-1 record would win 10 packs and that a 5-1 would win 20. I was relieved that my opponent in round six wanted the draw. I dodged the bullet, we decided to play anyway for shits-and-giggles. He kicked my ass with a tight zombie deck.
As always... Lucky me.
