The Lobby
by Ai, Kiyoko, Natsuko, and Kimiyo

The lobby is the main place in NIC. When you enter the automatic door, you can find a blackboard on the left side. Most students often check the blackboard. If we go to the right of the blackboard, there is a counter, and there are many memos on the counter. To the right of the corner, there are big flags for the United States, Japan and England. If you go downstairs next to the flags, you will see a piano in the left corner. Trevor often plays the piano here, and his music is very nice! Next to the piano, there are many comfortable chairs. There are two desks on the left and right side, and students study or chat here. The lobby is an important place for students, visitors and Trevor, so if you want to listen to Trevor's piano playing, you should go to the lobby!

The Annex Lounge
by Baihua, Aya, Miwa, and Yoko M.

NIC has four buildings. The Annex is one of them. There are a lot of things there, including white tables and chairs, some plants, vending machines, a microwave and a bulletin board. White tables and chairs are arranged too close together. Besides, about 1.6 centimeters high plants are put between tables. It will make your feeling become calm. Also, it looks like a European open garden. Moreover, there are two vending machines and tow microwaves. If you want to drink your favorite drinks, or you want to warm up your lunch, you can make use of those things. They are very convenient. Every day, many students go to this lounge to study English or exchange information with their friends. Besides, there is a bulletin board, and every student can get many kinds of information from there. Other than the Annex, NIC has three lounges. The Annex Lounge is the smallest one. However, every day, it supports a lot of students.

Our Classroom
by Asuka Kizu, Eisuke Katano, and Yasuhiro Kimata

Our rectangular classroom is not only good but also bad. It's a moderately good room. When you open the heavy door, which is difficult to open, you'll see 23 wooden desk chairs in three rows. The desks are very bad because they are too small, and the chairs are hard, so we can't study comfortably. When you look around the room, you can see a dirty wall which has a dent in it. A whiteboard and a clock, which is a little fast, are on the wall. The room has a big window, which is unusual. You can see many things, such as convenience stores, smokers who are NIC students, cars, bicycles, and buildings from the window. Our classroom has some bad points, so it is not excellent. However, we don't feel uncomfortable, so it's not a bad place for us to sharpen our English skills.

The Fourth Floor
by Yukiko, Noriko, Reiko, and Izumi

The fourth floor is a very important place in NIC. When we open the door, to the opposite of the entrance, there is a reception desk, and Miss Ohara is sitting there. She is our school's receptionist. To the left of the reception desk, there is a copy room and rest room. In back of the reception desk, there is an office. Many staff members work very hard there. They are friendly and kind to us. In the far right corner, there is a meeting room. To the right of the meeting room, there are two rooms. In the near right corner, there is a counseling area. Many students visit there to consult with the staff about worries and problems. Therefore, the place is useful. In the center of the fourth floor, there are the teachers' boxes where teachers receive mail. If you have some worries or problems, you should go to the fourth floor.

The Library
by Tatsuya, Kazumasa, Mayuko, and Yoko

Our library is in the New Building on the fourth and fifth floors. It's small but useful for us. When you come into the library, you can see the librarian's counter on your right side. One of my friends is a librarian. He wants to be a musician, so he is crazy about music. On the librarianfs counter, there is a computer. Librarians almost always use this computer. In the near right corner, there are some shelves that have a lot of books, newspapers, and university pamphlets on the right side of the librarian's counter. In the far right corner of the library, there are four chairs and a desk. I always sit in one of these chairs. On the left of the desk, there are six computers. Some students use them for presentations, E-mail, surfing the Internet, and so on. Computers are very helpful for students, so computers make our homework easier. In the far left corner, there is a copy machine to the left of the computers. We can copy one paper for 10 yen, and we can select the copy paper size. Many students use this machine to make copies. In front of the copy machine, there are the stairs on the left side of the library. There are some desks and chairs down there. These are always used by many NIC students. In conclusion, the library is always lively, but maybe it's too noisy for a library.

PROJECT TWO: SHINJUKU

The South Entrance
by Ai, Noriko, Mayuko, Izumi and Kimiyo

We can enjoy all day in the south entrance of Shinjuku station. First of all, there are many shops. For example, there are many kinds of restaurants, including Chinese, Mexican, Indian, etc.. We recommend a Mexican restaurant named El Torito where you can eat very spicy food. In addition, there are many coffee shops, such as Starbucks, Afternoon Tea, and some open cafes. Second, there are some nice romantic places, such as South Terrace, a bridge and wooden benches. There is lighting throughout especially at night, so many couples are sitting on the wooden benches. The bridge looks like the bridge in the movie "Bidges of Madison County." Finally, if you want to become romantic with your partner, you should go directly to the south entrance!

West Shinjuku
by Eisuke Katano, Yoko Kitayama, Asuka Kizu, Kiyoko Kobayasi, and Yasuhiro Kimata

Our image of West Shinjuku is that it is a beautiful business city. However, it is not only a business city but also Electric Street and Old Street. This paper describes three famous places in West Shinjuku. First, Old street, which is called "Omoide Yokocho," is along the JR-line. There are many dirty restaurants, but they serve good dishes, which are cheap and large volume. This town has a long history. After World War 2, there was the famous black market called "Yami-ichi." Many poor people came there and had cheap meals. Now the town takes over this atmosphere. Second, Electric Street has some big electric shops, such as Yodobashi Camera, Sakuraya and cellphone shops, and it has a lot of cheap restaurants. Electric products are also cheap, so Electric Street is like a miniature Akihabara. Lunch shops and restaurants gradually have increased and have prospered since an office street was made in Shinjuku. Therefore, Electric Street is always crowded by electric manias, office workers, and so on. Finally, there are many high buildings, such as the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, office buildings, hotels, and so on. There is a most outstanding building called TMG. It has two skyscrapers on its south side and on its north side. The north side's skyscraper is opened at the until 21:30, so we can look around at the beautiful night scenery of Tokyo. Gorgeous restaurants are in both office buildings and hotels. This area was a reservoir with no high buildings until about ten years ago. The Tokyo Metropolitan Government was built here first. After that, many high-rise buildings were built one after another. In short, West Shinjuku is an interesting place, which is a mix of the latest and old atmospheres.

Kabuki-cho
by Aya, Yoko, Miwa, Natsuko, Baihua

Kabuki-cho is an exciting and dangerous place in shinjuku, wed like t introduce you to this famous area in Shinjuku. First, there are many amusement places and fast food shops. For example, there are karaoke boxes, bars game centers, the Koma Theater, and so on. Also, there are many porno shops, which are dangerous and strange for us.

Second, there are many young people. It is especially crowded every Friday night to Sunday night. Also, there are many homosexualities, hostesses, and homeless people. Therefore, we have to be careful!

Finally, the atmosphere is mysterious. It creates a dangerous, strange, and modern atmosphere. Therefore, sometimes we be tempted by that atmosphere.

In short, it is an adult world, so it isnt a proper to us. If you want to go to there, you must understand that it has a lot of dangerous things, and it is one of the most dangerous places in Tokyo.
