WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT THE REAL EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL BEINGS

THE ANGELS AND THE DEMONS?

There is a premise that declares the Giants mentioned in Holy Scripture (Genesis) to be the offspring of fallen angels who cohabited with human women and produced an anomalous, referred to in scripture as, Nephilim. The giant that David fought was alluded to belong to this race .

Let's see who they were and what we can know about them from the Word.

I. ARE THEY THE OFFSPRING OF FALLEN ANGELS. DID THEY SURVIVE THE FLOOD OR DID ONLY THE WORD NEPHILIM MAKE IT ACROSS THE WATERS?.

Nephilim (naphal); "giants," name of two peoples, one before the flood and one after the flood

1. HERE IN GENESIS WE FIND THE ORIGIN OF THE NEPHILIM.. THE REAL QUESTION IS, ARE THE SONS OF GOD, FALLEN ANGELS?

Genesis 6:1-8 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years." 4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. 5 The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain. 7 So the Lord said, "I will wipe mankind, whom I have created, from the face of the earth--men and animals, and creatures that move along the ground, and birds of the air--for I am grieved that I have made them." 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.

(1) DOES THE NAME SONS OF GOD APPLY TO ANGELS, MEN OR BOTH? _______________________________

"Job 1:6 One day the angels came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came with them. Job 38:7 while the morning stars sang together and all the angels shouted for joy?

Daniel 3:25-28 He said, "Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods."

[28] Then Nebuchadnezzar said, "Praise be to the God of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, who has sent his angel and rescued his servants! They trusted in him and defied the king's command and were willing to give up their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.

and to men (Luke 3:38),Luke 3:38 the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.

The verses seem to indicate some resemblance between Angels and the human race.

Prior to Genesis 6: the population of the earth was small and

the silence of scripture would lead us to assume that the

inhabitants of the earth accepted the authority and presence of

God.

Genesis 6:1 Now it came about, when men began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them,

(1) DOES THE VERSE GIVE YOU THE SENSE OF BEING ON THE EDGE OF A POPULATION EXPLOSION? __________

Genesis 6:1-3 When men began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. 3 Then the Lord said, "My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years."

Genesis 6:6 The Lord was grieved that he had made man on the earth, and his heart was filled with pain.

Genesis 6:4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

We will see later that demons or fallen angels are apparently without a physical body, and find entrance to planet earth only by possession.

Two question arise:

(1) Can an incorporeal being such as a demon (fallen angel) assume a body capable of copulating with a human and pass on their genetic makeup? ______________________________.

(2) Angels are created beings, they neither marry or are given in marriage and they live for ever. Would God have equipt them, who have no need of reproduction, for sexual intercourse? ______

We will gain a better understanding when we study the Attributes of an angel.

Genesis 6:4-5 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. (5) The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time.

Numbers 13:33 "There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."

(1) Only Noah and his family made it across the flood, along with their language, which included the word for giants, Nephilim. If angels were the pro-genitors of Nephilim and participated in their wickedness and evil ways, Is it likely that righteous God would allow them to repeat the offence after the Noahetic judgement? _________

In these next verses, after the flood, we again find the Nephilim.

Numbers 13:33 "There also we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak are part of the Nephilim); and we became like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight."

Deut. 1:28' Where can we go up? Our brethren have made our hearts melt, saying, "The people are bigger and taller than we; the cities are large and fortified to heaven. And besides, we saw the sons of the Anakim there."

Deut. 9:2 a people great and tall, the sons of the Anakim, whom you know and of whom you have heard it said, 'Who can stand before the sons of Anak?'[ ANAK simply means a collar; ornament. The name could imply that they are the jewel of this area or land]

(1) Is it unheard of for a particular gene pool to produce large boned, tall men? ______________. [everyone knows there is a gene pool that produces tiny men called pigmy's]

(2) Does this make them children of angels? _______

Joshua 11:21 Then Joshua came at that time and cut off the Anakim from the hill country, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab and from all the hill country of Judah and from all the hill country of Israel. Joshua utterly destroyed them with their cities.

(1) If they were sons of angels they seem to have lost on of the most precious attributes of an angel, that is to live forever. Joshua utterly ________ them with their cities.

(2) This subject seems to divert much attention away from the study of Jesus and His Word. It appears to be a divisive subject. What roll do the Nephilim play in my salvation? ____________.

Are the Nephilim the children of fallen angels? Our salvation isn't effected one bit. They play no part in what Jesus has done for you and I. Which is greater, a dead giant, half man and half condemned angel,(thus condemned himself to eternal torment) or a man, born from above with the Holy Spirit of God, indwelling him. This subject should be of only casual interest. Our real attention should be on Jesus, and the in-filling of His Holy Spirit.
