Emperor Haile Selassie I

  Tafari Makonnen was born on the 23rd of July 1892 in Ethiopia (...with Ethiopia this man was born there. Ps. 87:4), at the time of his birth the heavens declared his coming with a loud thunderclap and a heavy down pour ending a drought. Tafari was quite bright and competent at his lessons; he truly astonished the priest with the depths of his knowledge concerning religious and mystical matters. (And She brought forth a man child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to His Throne. Rev. 12:5) He could quote freely from the KEBRA NEGAST, the Book of Kufale, the Book of Enoch, the Shepard of Hermas, Judith, Ecclesiastes, Tobit, the Matshafa Berhane (Book of Light), the Sixth and Seventh Book of Moses, and the Book of Eden (secretly deleted from Genesis during the Dark Ages). He knew all thirty-one books of the Hebrew Bible, the twenty-one canonical books of the New Testament and numerous other apocryphal and pseudepigraphic works. When he was, 13 years old, he was, already working in the government at which he excelled. (For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting

line of Ethiopian kings stretching in unbroken succession from the time of King Solomon and Queen of Sheba (That of the fruits according to the flesh, He would rise up Christ to sit on His (David's) Throne. Acts 2:29). Haile Selassie ruled as an absolute monarch, centralizing Ethiopia and instituting a number of reforms, including the abolition of slavery. On October 3 ^rd 1935 with the blessings of the Pope Pius XI, Benito Mussolini without declaring war invaded Ethiopia. Selassie found his forces unmatched militarily and was shocked at the use of chemical weapons by Italy. He was forced to exile on May 2 of 1936. On June 30, Haile Selassie went to Geneva to seek help from the League of Nations. He made a powerful speech in which he addressed the lack of the League to act against the aggressor Italy. Haile Selassie gained the admiration and sympathy of the world with his speech in which, he warned Europe about the doom that awaited them. Shortly after Germany began their war campaign with Italy as its ally. That forced England into helping Ethiopia to keep Italy forces tied down. With their new supply it was not long before Ethiopia routed Italy. (In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of (New) Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the House of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them. Zechariah 12:8) In a remarkable show of mercy Selassie asked his people not to take revenge on the retreating Italian soldiers. Father, The Prince of Peace. Is 9:6) He married Wayzaro Menen in 1911, daughter of Emperor Menelik II. When Menelik II died his grandson Lij Yasu became Emperor. When Lij Yasu attempted to change the official religion of Ethiopia from Coptic Christianity to Islam, Tafari Makonnen drove him from the throne and in 1916 installed his aunt, Zauditu as Empress . Tafari was said to be Empress Zauditu's favorite nephew and some were jealous of their relationship.  Assuming the title Ras Tafari, he named himself regent and heir to the throne. He became de facto ruler of the country and was crowned negus (king) in 1928. In 1930, Ras Tafari was crowned Emperor, upon this occasion he took the name Haile Selassie the first, meaning "Might or Power of the Trinity" along with his other titles, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
