Easter's True Meaning
This is the month that spring begins,
also some people like me, say it is the beginning of the New Year. The most important
events of this month are the Passover and Christian Easter, or the death and resurrection
of Jesus (Yeshua) the Christ. Let us examine these events to get a deeper understanding of
how they relate. I know that spring is the beginning of the New Year. Many cultures for
thousands of years have celebrated this time of year as the beginning or renewal season.
The Easter rabbit is a symbol of fertility, and colored Easter eggs, originally painted
with bright colors to represent spring. One of the main themes of spring is fertility,
which festivals and ceremonies are held. At one time spring was considered the first of
the year. Look at the calendar doesn't Sept. mean seven in Latin, Oct. means eight,
Nov. means nine, Dec. means ten. Jan. would be the eleventh month, and Feb. would be the
twelfth month. That would make march the first month of the year. Even nature it
self announce the arrival of a new beginning. This is the time when, the death of winter
ends and the resurrection of new life of spring begins. There is no true death in JAH'S
plan. Both Christian Easter and the Passover are equinoctial festivals; they commemorate
the spring equinox, which was one of the most important events in antiquity.
Passover is the Jewish holiday; the angel of death passed over their home in Goshen. It
also represents the sun, in its path along |

the ecliptic, passing over the celestial
equator at the spring equinox when night and day are of equal length. The celestial
equator is the earth's equator extended in to space; the ecliptic is the path the sun
takes as it moves from the winter solstice to the summer solstice. During winter solstice
the days are the shortest of the year nights are the longest and summer solstice the days
are the longest and nights are the shortest. At the spring and fall equinox day and night
are equal. In spring during the Passover the celestial equator crosses the ecliptic
forming a cross. When the sun crosses this point or cross, the sun is said, to be
crucified on the cross. In addition, the celestial equator forms an arc through space,
which can be represented as a mount. The mount can be a representation of Mount Calvary,
were the sun is crucified on the cross, made by the celestial equator crossing the
ecliptic. It takes three days for the sun to move from the equinox (were the days are
equal), to the renewal of spring, the first day were the days are longer than the nights.
The sun is said, to experience a rebirth or resurrection. |
