2003

Let's Get it Started.

11 January, 2003

Okay I finally got off my ass and started organizing shit for the '03.
Not a bad start, kinda lacks the "fortitude" so far, but dig Chevelle, Rage Against the Garden and Detachment Kit.
On the "E" side am really digging the Groove Armada and Thievery Corporation; Jurassic 5...duh.
Skank-pop appears to finally be fading, but hip-hop is more about the Bling and posturing then about anything of substance.  Chuck D...where are you?
Johnny Cash covering NIN?  WTF?  And it kicks ass.
Another Bowie compilation (Which rules...duh), and the Black Crowes make me want to play...

18 February

Al is back, and he is PISSED. Whew, I for one missed him.  Let's hope the band stays clean enough to tour.
Billy's new band are bringing it for real, a new streamlined Massive Attack, and Marvin Gaye.
Apparently Interpol finally made it onto the radio in this shithole town.  See the 2002 review of their record.

20 March, 2003

The bargain bins at Tower and Launch rule.
Some new rock (not to be confused with "New Rock"-this is actually good), a relative disappointment from Everclear, and a massive surprise by the Distillers.
Highlights include Mae, Moving Units and The Music.

Oh yeah...almost forgot...time to suck a little corporate cock...

Table
1 =Take it back after you've taped the radio track.
2 =Not bad...some promise, but doesn't follow through consistently.
3 =A solid record all the way through, with maybe one or two flashes of brilliance.
4 =A great record that pushes the musical envelope of the moment. A must buy.
5 =A classic that you'll give to your Grandchildren.
