Introduced By: Marlynda Adkins, Ashlee Gibson Representing: Italy TITLE: THE ESTABLISHMENT OF RESTRICTIONS ON EMBRYO RESEARCH 1 NOTHING WITH DEEP CONCERN that embryo research is a widespread an popular practice, and, 2 BEARING IN MIND that the fetuses created for these experiements are not expected to live into their next 3 developmental stage, and, 4 CONTEMPLATING the value of life and the complex isues surrounding its destruction, and, 5 RECOGNIZING that the Institute of Embryo Research goes against virtually all world religions and an 6 individual's own personal belief, and, 7 FURTHER NOTING that nations such as the United States and France have adopted amendments 8 prohibiting federal funding of any research on live human embryos, and, 9 KEEPING IN MIND that money for fetus research is government sponsored, 10 THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the United Nations encourage all countries to stop federal funding that 11 would be used to facilitate embryo research.
