The Song of the Sirens

Soon they were approaching to the rocks, where the Sirens lived. They were beautiful women whose song bewitched (lured) all who heard it. Because Circe had warned Ulysses of the great danger, he ordered his sailors to bind him to the mast. He completely filled the ears of them with wax so that they could not hear the son. When the Sirens sang their song, the bewitched Ulysses attempted to free himself. Bewitched, he ordered the men to free him. They heard neither the song of the sirens nor the orders of Ulysses. Thus he and they safely passed by this danger.
