Description: A battle between a dolphin and a shark

Attack

Cutting through the water,
Streamlined, grey, black, doom.
Waiting, watching, knowing
It's opponent, its prey.
A dolphin, quite young
Yet knowing.

A flick of the tail,
A snap at a fish.
A watchful eye
On its opponent,
The predator,
A shark.

Fast flowing fins
Send the shark to battle
With a dolphin.
Death. Drear. Food.
Defense! A tail,
Snapping. Pain.

A shark, fighting
A dolphin, defending
A watcher, observing
A battle to the death
Of either,
A dolphin or a shark.

Blood streams
From a cut
In the side
Of the dolphin.
Weakening, wearing,
Worrying: death.

But not alone.
Sharks can lose.
Nature, nurturing
Killing, keeping.
A break in the neck.
Cracking, killing.

A watcher appears.
A scavenger, devouring
The dolphin, not quite dead.
A fin waving,
Pushing away.
Unsucceeding, unknowing, not caring
