Back on staff duty. Had two days of freezing delirious hell on the live fire qualification range this week as a lane safety. My detachment managed to have the entire range complex shut down twice, once because an NCO drove a vehicle down the wrong road (the one that went out into the range complex and therefore exposed the vehicle to small arms fire and artillery) and once because we lost a soldier for over five hours. Seems he got lost along the 1500 meter walk towards the gate guard shack and wandered twelve miles out of his way. Needless to say, the German range control wasn't too happy with us. So I kind of needed a weekend after all that crap (Thursday ended at 10:30 p.m. and I got to bed at midnight), but here I am on staff duty on a Saturday. Waah, poor me.
Keris is hilarious. She says she wants to be five so she can go to Kindergarten, and when she's four we can go on an airplane to Alabama and get a dog like the one our old neighbors had (a "Terra" dog). She says she has ten brothers and sisters and they live in Alabama. Whenever she wants something and I say we didn't bring the money to buy it, she says she has money at her sister's house. Her sisters' names include Kayla, Pikachu, Monk, Ash, and Gengar. Today she asked me if my uncle Tom liked mangoes. The other day she told me she was going to drive the car to the store to buy some candy and I could ride in the carseat. Her sisters are going to grow her into a baby and she can have a pacifier, and then they are going to grow her into a dog and she can have dog food. When she gets bigger, she's going to be a mermaid and swim in the water.
