I've decided I need to get a damn plan (for the first time in my life) and implement it. (Listen to all the corporate Army-speak I've learned! Yuk!) I have slightly over a year left on this Army tour and I can't just hold my nose and jump into life as a civilian -- not with a kid on my hip. So I see myself as having three main options right now, and these are very broad: 1. Re-Enlist in the Army for a station closer to "home." This may or may not be possible, and the station may or may not be tolerable, but it is easier to do job interviews and go to college in the States, at least when that's where you're planning on living. 2. Get out and join the National Guard or Reserves. I need more information about this, and the chances of getting deployed are pretty damn good. But since I don't have the GI Bill because I'm a big fat idiot, I might have to see what the Guard in a State like Louisiana, who will pay your tuition full-time, has to say. 3. Stop wearing boots altogether and decide what I'm going to be when I grow up. This is about as easy as it sounds if you know me. Sigh.
