Peace be with you!!Was-salaam aliakum - Schalom - Peace!I have two interests that I want to cover. My love of Musax (I try to play bass and guitar but sometimes it's better just to listen). I have played in a few bands one of which is still going, they no go under the name of , I am also pretentious enough to say that I like progressive rock (oh dear!).Now I play music for the glory of God at my local church, which for me is a great honour, and a great way to actually startlearning some music theory rather than playing by ear! Good Music (IMHO)There are some great Christian bands out there, let me introduce you to some that challenge me and lift my spirit. Delirious? - Made quite an impact on the secular charts, excellent pop/rock mesh with some very good lyrics. Believer - I had heard them about three years ago and have recently listening to a lot, a wonderful thrash metal band challenging music and challenging lyrics Iona - a truly wonderful blend of christian celtic rock that have also broken through to the secular market with a clear messgae of the faith perfected for us by Jesus Christ Jars of Clay - acoustic and electric folk rock with a warm and deep message for all people and some astounding music that is richly textured. Will appeal immediately and entertain your heart and spirit for months to come David Meece - thanks to my good friend Tobias I have discovered wonderful songsmith and musician that sings from the heart. Many diverse styles, I look forward to discovering more of his albums (I only have one at the moment) |
My ideal Sunday afternoon is a trip to HydePark's Speaker's Corner in London, if you are in London on a Sunday check this place out. There you will find me listening to and sometimes speaking (I try not to heckle) with the Muslims there, I am very interested in sharing my belief with these dear people from whom I have learnt alot about my own faith and their faith. I would commend to all the socratic dictum, that 'the unexamined life is not worth living'.
Update! - Upon completion of this response the FAQ document has suddenly been removed from Meherally's website. Mr Meherally told me that once that FAQ response was complete he would respond to it and it looks like he has by removing the initial claims that he had made in the light of the responses given. We congratulate Meherally for removing this questionable apologetic. I will keep the response document on my website as I have found it to be a valuable resource in correcting some of the common Muslim misunderstandings that arise from the Bibe.
Unfortunatley Meherally is now trying to repackage these older works in a new document, to which I have produced a Repackaged Rebuttal. This is interesting from someone who claims to propagate 'The Truth' and claim they are scholarly studies, when he shys away from any rebuttals to his works, by simply changing his website titles! Still no acceptance from Meherally to link to my website, although much of the content of my site refers directly to his writings and he is more than willing for people to link to his site.
I am dedicating this site to answering Muslim apologetics directed towards Christians, as was recommended to me by one such apologist, Akbarally Meherally with whom I have spent a few years , dialoging.
I would also invite those of you who do not know Jesus Christ, the perfect example of humanity to get to know him better.
Napoleon Bonaparte, when confined to the rock of St. Helena, turned to Count Montholon with the inquiry, 'Can you tell me who Jesus Christ was?'
The question being declined, Napoleon said,
'Well then, I will tell you. Alexander, Caesar, Charlemagne, and I myself have founded great empires upon force. Jesus alone founded His Empire upon love. I tell you all these were men: none else is like Him; Jesus Christ was more than man. He asks for the human heart: He demands it unconditionally; and forthwith His demand is granted. Wonderful!...All who sincerely believe in Him experience that remarkable supernatural love toward Him. Time, the great destroyer, is powerless to extinguish this sacred flame. This it is which proves to me quite convincingly the divinity of Jesus Christ!'
I was born to two wonderful parents, I went to a Church school and attended church school twice a week. At that time God was something that I assumed could exist quite easily, one thing I could not understand when I would say my prayers at night was how could He listen to allow the prayers and request of all those people praying at the same time around the world at once? God for me at that time was someone distant, far away and aloof from this planet, like some ruler who simply ruled far and above those who served him, never knowing him or ever seeing him. Since that time I have learnt is real to experience and close than you would normally think, and will hear you if you have the faith to call on him and take that step of faith. Ultimately knowing God and his will is through relationship, if we could resolve our relationship problems with each other then this world would be a better place.
I first came into contact with computers with the good old Sinclair ZX81 which my dear Dad bought back in 1980 and I was hooked! I studied at the University of Greenwich, where I learnt more about life, computers and came to my belief in a one true God and his Son Jesus Christ. A greater proportion of these documents are being written on a Psion Series 5 which is a remarkable machine and would recommend to any prospective Palmtop buyer.
Since then I have been involved in many discussions with people of similar and opposing beliefs or those who believe nothing at all. This has helped me to learn and grow by being challenged and finding answers to questions. Islam is a belief system that shares many similarities with Christianity and this is a good source of dialogue in which I intend to learn and grow in knowledge.
As the famous saying goes, ‘there are always more questions than answers!’
I have been fortunate enough to do a work placement in Germany at the Albstadt-Sigmaringen Polytechnic working for a company called Mettler-Toledo. The German connection extends a little further, because my wife Minok, is also from this lovely country.
